Let me get personal for a moment. In 2023, I was 300 pounds, diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. I was scared, overwhelmed, and unsure if I could turn things around. But I refused to let those diagnoses define me.
I leaned into everything I knew from my years in fitness. I became an ISSA certified trainer to deepen my knowledge. I rebuilt my body and mind step by step. It wasn’t easy. It took discipline, patience, and a lot of sweat.

In 2022 Doctors told me I would never breathe on my own again. They said I would be on oxygen for the rest of my life. I almost believed them! Something told me I was destined for much more than a life with tubes running into my nose. I took the first step and entered into a local 5k called the Bubble Run. The training leading up to this was... not much fun. But by the time I got to race day I was down 30lbs and already off oxygen!
I struggled through that first 5k and in doing so ignited a fire that has led to me thriving in endurance sports. Since that first race in 2023, I have run in over 30 5k, 10k and 1/2 marathon races. In the summer of 2025 I entered the multisport world, completing my first Triathlon!
